A photograph and its story

In the photograph you will see there are saints and religious figures, it was taken in the "hill of the Virgin" in Puente Alto, at the Viscachas sector. A long time ago I used to visit it, just because it has a beautiful view. It is a kind of San Cristobal hill but much smaller and local. The place of prayer contain where the virgin is

a small sector on a side of the cave  and it is to leave the remains or vestiges of another figures  religious icons. I found it interesting that the people of the Catholic religion had a cemetery of images and broken saints, as if the truncated, disfigured, discoloured image or anything else did not serve as a representative of faith. Is it much less sacred if it does not meet a class of aesthetic value? ...
